It seems that the topic of lasers being shone at aircraft, particularly around airports, is getting quite some publicity at the moment.
Of course those of us with any sense know that shining a laser in somebody’s eye (yes, even the cheap and readily available ones at the $2 shop…) is just plain dumb.
Not only can a laser do serious harm to one’s eye(s), but the fact that a laser can light up the inside of a cockpit at night can seriously retard flight crews’ night vision, less than ideal when on final approach to land.
